Last week I received a question about children who have a hard time learning letter names. The two interventions that work the best are the tracing of the alphabet book (page 58 in my book) and the Pre-A lesson (chapter 3). I’ve been collecting data on kindergarten children for over 20 years. These two approaches have a 99.9% success rate even with children who are emerging bilinguals. If you haven’t tried these activities, begin immediately. There is still time!
