Confusing letters b and d Teach children to make the lower case d by forming the c first. They need to say "around like a c up down" as they make the letter. Every day practice for a few seconds. Remember the student must say the directions as they make the letter. Before the lesson, include sight words to practice that had a d i.e. do, did, had. Again. They must say the directions. During guided writing, remind them to say the directions every time they make a d. I have found that once you straighten out the d, it is easy for them to remember the b--down and around. |
